New Partnership to Deliver Energy and Operational Efficiencies to the Manufacturing Sector

A new project aimed at driving employee engagement to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency by leveraging league tables and competitions has been announced this month.

The project, called “The Power League” is being developed through a partnership between energy efficiency experts ON5 Company Ltd and Gengame Ltd, a Leicester based start-up that uses gamification to deliver engagement with energy.

Identifying opportunities for energy savings, reporting leaks or faulty equipment is not always top of the list of priorities for busy employees trying to hit production targets, but just a few changes can offer substantial cost savings to the business.

The Power League aims to address this by leveraging digital tools to make it quick and easy for staff to report problems or areas for improvement and uses competitions and prizes to turn a chore into something fun. It allows manufacturing companies to tackle the “last and most important mile” of their energy saving strategy – the human impact.

Stephane Lee-Favier, CEO of GenGame said: “This project builds on our 3 years of experience learning how to encourage energy savings in the domestic sector through, but applies it to a new sector to encourage savings in the workplace, as well as home”.

Anne-France Kennedy, Director of ON5 UK: “ON5 Group have extensive experience delivering employee engagement energy saving programmes in France with corporations like the French railway company SNCF, Schneider Electric, Total and Esso. With the Power League and in partnership with GenGame, ON5 is now ready to support the manufacturing sector, starting with the factory of a UK Food and Beverages Producer in the next few months”.
